The man with the ax and the string.

He is the character who terrified me in a nightmare that I had when I was a child. 😈 I had already drawn him in 2006 and I thought that redrawing it today could be cool ! Here is the nightmare :

My friends and I were playing outside when this man kidnapped one of us. We were super scared but we had to go to help him ! Unfortunately, this monster pursued us to kill us (I guess). Every time he saw us, he stared at us, he took his tiny ax and his tiny string and began to "saw" it with a big smile and we could hear the sound of the ax caressing the rope slowly "chhhhhhak chhhhhak », crumbling small parts of fiber. As if he wanted to do the same with our skin : peel it slowly but surely ! 😨 We kept running ! (Even if it's super hard to run in a dream) and when we thought we had sown him, we went to an adult for help, but the person's face was transformed and became the face of the vilain ! He could metamorphose into whoever he wanted ! It was terrifying. We were running away again and again and when I got home, I wanted to hide. I knocked with all my strength at the door for my mother to come open ! I heard her behind the door "yes honey, I'm coming". The door opened, I saw my mother and there, noooo ! 😱 Her face was changing ! It was him ! Finally, I was so scared that I woke up and I will never know the end of this dream. All I know is that there was no escape, no place to go, no place to hide. What do you think the ax and the rope mean in a dream? Some people made me notice that he totally looks like the ripper in the Last action hero movie. And that completely blew my mind ! Cause it’s so true ! I had absolutely no idea, but I guess I saw this movie and I was marked in my childhood. Even if I’m a bit disappointed that this character is not completely a result of my own imagination, I’m still amazed how much my subconscious kept so many details. It’s crazy what your brain can do ! :D
